Phil Richards joins Weddle & Sons as the Solar Sales Manager

Manhattan, KS, June 30, 2025. Weddle & Sons, Inc. is excited to welcome Phil Richards as the company's new Solar Sales Manager. In this role, Richards will focus on expanding customer awareness and driving growth in the company's solar division, positioning Weddle & Sons as a trusted solar solutions supplier alongside its well-established roofing services.

"I have great respect for the Weddle & Sons company and also a keen interest in what can be accomplished for energy independence through solar," Richards said. "One of my top priorities is helping customers understand that they can turn to their leading roofing partner for solar solutions as well."

Richards brings a deep well of experience to the position, including 36 years with Caterpillar Inc. in roles spanning engineering, commercial leadership, and sales.

In the coming months, Richards will focus on increasing visibility for Weddle & Sons' solar offerings, especially in the Manhattan area. He aims to align the company's strong roofing reputation with the growing demand for solar energy, helping customers access sustainable, roof-based energy systems from a name they already trust.

Phil and his wife Kim are longtime Manhattan residents and proud Kansas State University alumni. Together they raised two sons in the area and enjoy attending K-State arts and athletic events and exploring the Flint Hills.
